Germany

Disruption reported at Frankfurt Airport: at least 20 flights have been cancelled and an additional 13 flights have been delayed at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) over a three hour period due to unspecified causes. No further information on when operations would return to normalcy has been reported.
France

Eurocontrol has announced possible disruption to flights as a result of an Air Traffic Control (ATC) walkout, forming part of a national public sector strike scheduled for 22 May. The aviation advisory indicates disruptions are possible from 17:00 UTC Monday, 21 May until 04:00 UTC on Wednesday, 23 May.
USA

A powerful storm recently swept across the Northeast causing damage and power outages in some locations of Connecticut and New York. As an update to service outages, all Post Offices in the storm impacted areas of the Connecticut Valley and Westchester NY Districts are now open.
Chile

CorreosChile have informed of generic capacity concerns at customs due to increasing international volumes. Items can be queued up to 20 working days before being processed by Chilean customs. It is unclear at this point when the situation will improve. Currently it has been measured 25 working days total in transit.
China

Thunderstorms causes flight delays at Chengdu Airport: Chinese sources indicated that flight delays occurred at Chengdu Airport on Monday, 21 May due to thunderstorms. More than 70 flights, all domestic, have either been delayed or suspended following the adverse weather in the city. Expect residual disruptions.
Brazil

Brazilian Post has informed about a truck driver strike and subsequent highway blockades which began on Tuesday 22 May. This action has severely disrupted mail transportation in the country and as a result there will be delays in the processing and delivery of international mail.

Reports have been received of a strike at Brazilian customs. Tax auditors will strike for 30 days, starting 14 May. Only essential operations will continue. We are in close contact with our Brazilian partners to confirm the impact the situation at customs have.
Canada

Although delays still exist when posting to Canada, parcel delivery is slowly returning to normal. This had previously caused delays of up to 5 working days to some parts of Canada on their globalpriority and globalvalue services. Until full confirmation of a return to normal service will be received, Canada post continue to suspend the Service Guarantee on their globalpriority service as a result of this processing/ operational issue.
Indonesia

Volcanic eruption of Mount Merapi near Yogyakarta: Local sources are reporting that Mount Merapi has erupted twice in eight hours. The volcanic ash has landed on some nearby villages and residents have been evacuated. Expect disruptions in the area.
India

Flight disruption reported at Mumbai Airport: flight disruptions at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) are set to continue until June 5, as the airport upgrades its Instrument Landing System (ILS) that guides flights on its main runway. More than 600 flights have so far been affected at the airport since the beginning of the week, mainly causing flight delays.

Residents of these areas are asked to pick up their mail at the Pahoa Post Office at 15-2859 Pahoa Village Rd.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Post Office Closed. Customers of this office can pick up their mail at the Volcano Post Office at 19-4030 Old Volcano Highway.
