Backorders

  1. Backordered Products
    Display the ordered products which cannot be shipped because they are backordered.
     
  2. Backorder Status
    Update the backorder status for products and set the backorder message that will be displayed. This can be done for all products in the database by checking the "Update all products" check box. Leave the box unchecked to update new products only.
    NOTE: To update the backorder status of products in a specific category or to update individual products only, use the X-Cart administrator control panel.
     
  3. Stock Notify Email
    Send an email to every customer requesting to be notified when a previously out-of-stock product is back in stock.

 

Details

  1. Create MPN (Manufacturer's Product Number) extra field values
    Create MPN extra field values from the X-Cart SKU field without the XX- added at the front of the product code for manufacturers like Battenfeld.
     
  2. Featured Products
    Select products to be displayed on category pages as "Featured Products" based on a wide variety of parameters like quantity in stock and sales velocity. This tool automatically changes featured products based time parameters chosen by the operator.
     
  3. Missing Product Descriptions
    This function will provide a list of products that are missing the Long Description and provide a text entry box through which you can enter a Long Description for those products which are missing a Detailed Description. This tool does not provide a WYSIWYG editor.
     
  4. Missing Product Pictures
    This tool is most often used to create icon pictures for prduct table listings on category pages. It is also a handy way to find out which products are missing pictures.

     NOTE:   Product image tools rsize all images from the Product Detailed image number "0". Therefore you must first upload a Detailed Image for each product and make sure each product has only a single Detailed Image numbered "0". Multiple Detailed Images numbered "0" will cause unpredictable results.

  5. Modify Product Descriptions
    A custom WYSIWYG editor for editing product descriptions without danger of loosing the code which produces product help icons. Quickly scan through the product list to the desired product code and edit just the product short and long desicriptions without all the extraneous details of the complicated X-Cart product administration interface.
     
  6. Update Product Names
    This function will let you view and edit Product Names. It will update the name of the product's parts category. It will also update any corresponding links to the products in Category Descriptions, Product Long Descriptions, xCMS Entries and xCMS Category pages to reflect the new product names.

      WARNING:   Make sure you only change product names using this tool. Changing product names directly in the X-Cart product administration interface can lead to large numbers of broken hard-coded links as X-Cart has no way to update links used in product descriptions and xCMS articles.

  7. Update Product Part Diagrams
    Update the name of parts on the exploding product diagram.

      NOTE:  This program is part of the animated, exploded parts diagram tool that is currently under construction.
     
  8. Update SEO & Help Icons
    1. Create product long and short descriptions, meta descriptions and meta keywords
    2. Create part long descriptions, meta descriptions and meta keywords
    3. Update CD SEO fields
    4. Update SEO links in product descriptions, category descriptions, product tables, and xCMS pages.
    5. Update .htaccess with the new URL's.
       
  9. View and Update Missing prices, costs, weights, shipping dimensions, UPC codes

    To view the new prices on the website, complete the following steps:

    1. Update all of the product tables in the category descriptions (Step 6).
    2. Go to the Xcart admin contol panel.
    3. Click on the Tools tab
    4. Select Maintenance.
    5. Click the "Force cache generation" button.

    Update the link to the manufacturer's warranty page.

 

Inventory

  1. Average Inventory
    Average the Inventory with products that are identical, but have different product id's. This only works with products that have been linked using the "Matching Similar Products" tool below.

Prices

  1. Set FS Prices

    This is an easy interface for editing product and part prices. It is an alternative to the old "Import FS prices" tool which was used to import prices from manufacturer provided CSV files. It provides a simple interface to see products by category and edit prices manually. If you want to change prices for a few products or verify prices in a particular category, this is a far easier tool to use than the "Import FS prices" tool above.

    NOTE: If you run "Import FS prices" after making changes with "Set FS Prices", the changes you made with "Set FS Prices" will be lost.

    To view the new prices on the website, complete the following steps:

    1. Update all of the product tables in the category descriptions (Step 6).
    2. Go to the Xcart admin contol panel.
    3. Click on the Tools tab
    4. Select Maintenance.
    5. Click the "Force cache generation" button.
       
  2. Adjust FS Prices
    Alter the last digit of the prices.

Reports

  1. Products Sold
    Display a report of products sold sorted by manufacturer for a selected time period. This report is based on orders submitted and does not account for cancellations, refunds, or other changes after an order has been submitted.

 

X-Cart Database Maintenance

  1. Maintenance
    Clean up database errors, remove duplicate customers, and make sure each product has one and only one main category. Perform some data base integrity checking. The tool runs immediately upon clicking the link. No user input is required.

     The routine runs immediately upon clicking the link. No user input is required.
